I am a fine artist working out of St. Louis, Missouri. My first degree is a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from Missouri State University in Springfield where I studied painting. My second degree is a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri. Besides painting and graphic design, I have a love of photography and printmaking. I have taken numerous printmaking classes at St. Louis Community College- Meramec and Forest Park, where I have picked up most of my printmaking skills.
The printmaking techniques I employ include: etching, engraving, lithography, serigraphy, mezzotinting, linocuts, woodcuts, dry point, and collographs. As a painter, I use oil, acrylic, as well as watercolor paints. I have also experimented with alternative photography. I create cyanotypes, Van Dyke Brown prints, and I use Inkodye to transfer images to substrates that include paper and fabric.
Most recently I have brought together my love of typography and imagery in various serigraphs that I am working on.
Many prints and paintings are for sale on this website. You can also follow me on Instagram @kristenmcmillion for upcoming works available for sale.
