I am a fine artist and graphic designer based in St. Louis, Missouri. My first degree is a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from Missouri State University in Springfield where I studied painting. My second degree is a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri where I studied graphic design.
Much of my work is floral. All of my work is based on my own photography and imagination. In my paintings, I like to closely follow the photograph so as to create adequate organic detail. I like my paintings to stray away from stylized curves that in some instances may create and a static geometric feel.
As for my screenprints, I am able to use my graphic design skills to turn my drawings into vector illustrations. At which time I am able to color separate so I can use multiple screens and colors for each design, if I so choose. In my research and development for my screenprints, I am inspired by William Morris's wallpaper and other designs created during the Arts and Crafts Movement at the end of the nineteenth century. I also enjoy working on creating individual motifs that I then make into intricate and exciting patterns that are full of visual interest and detail.
